EXCLUSIVE: Jeffries Victory Fund’s Donation To Dems Lists Suffolk Construction As Employer, Raising FEC Violation Concerns

A recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing has raised eyebrows, as the Jeffries Victory Fund listed Suffolk Construction as its employer and Massachusetts as its state in a February 28, 2025, donation of $111,500 to the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Suffolk Construction, a Boston-based firm owned by prominent Democrat donor John Fish, also saw Fish personally contribute $132,900 and $44,300 to the DCCC on the same date. Fish also listed Suffolk Construction as his employer according to FEC records.

The Jeffries Victory Fund, which is located in Washington D.C., is a joint fundraising committee tied to House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries, designed to support Jeffries’ campaign, his leadership PAC (JEFF PAC), and the DCCC. The fund allocates contributions to bolster Democrat candidates and party activities, particularly for “toss-up” House elections.

John Fish, a consistent supporter of Democrat causes, has a well-documented history of significant contributions. During the 2024 election cycle, FEC records show Fish donated millions to efforts aimed at maintaining Democrat control of the Senate and White House while attempting to reclaim the House. His contributions included substantial sums to the Harris Victory Fund, House Majority PAC, Senate Majority PAC, and the DCCC. However, Fish’s record is not without controversy; in 2017, Suffolk Construction was fined $34,000 by the FEC for improper donations linked to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, as reported by the Boston Herald.

The listing of Suffolk Construction as the Jeffries Victory Fund’s employer has sparked questions about transparency and accuracy in the fund’s FEC filings. The issue is particularly notable given Jeffries’ recent public statements. On April 5, 2025, Jeffries posted on X, criticizing President Trump and Congressional Republicans, stating, “The Republican budget is nothing more than a toxic Ponzi scheme that will hurt everyday Americans. We must expose it in order to stop it.” Critics argue that the questionable FEC filing undermines Jeffries’ credibility in making such accusations.

The filing discrepancy raises two possibilities: either the Jeffries Victory Fund or Fish intentionally misrepresented the employer information, or an error was made. Both scenarios could pose challenges for Jeffries, who is expected to position himself as a candidate for Speaker of the House leading up to the 2026 midterms.
