EXCLUSIVE: NIH’s Beagle Lab And Other Taxpayer Funded Animal Labs In China Were Set To Continue Being Funded Under Trump’s Administration 

One week after Laura Loomer and White Coat Waste exposed how the National Institutes of Health under the new Trump Administration was still using taxpayer money to torture dogs in horrific tests, including giving them pneumonia and septic shock inside the agency’s headquarters in Maryland, NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya announced on Fox News that he closed the on-campus beagle lab at NIH. Bhattacharya’s move came two days after Elon Musk saw our investigation about the NIH beagle lab and posted that he “will investigate.”

WCW did nine years of investigative, legal, lobbying, and grassroots work that directly led to this 40-year-old torture lab at NIH that killed over 2,100 dogs being shut down. This marks the complete end of the NIH’s in-house dog testing and closes the last deadly dog lab inside any federal agency. It’s essential to emphasize that the NIH’s dog abuse would have continued if not for WCW, Laura Loomer, and Elon Musk.

NIH’s dog lab was approved until 2026

As part of their investigation, WCW also obtained previously unreleased documents through the Freedom of Information Act showing that this project was approved to continue until at least August 2026 and kill dozens more beagles.

Laura Loomer and WCW have also obtained a previously unreleased email showing that two weeks before the NIH’s announcement, an agency official defended dog testing and confirmed to a Congressional office that the dog testing project was still active and being considered for renewal.

Other Dog and Cat Labs Still Being Funded Under Trump

While NIH shut down the dog testing at its headquarters, as Laura Loomer  has reported, funding for many cruel animal testing labs around the world is being renewed under the Trump Administration by agencies like the NIH and Department of Defense. In response to our coverage of WCW’s work, Elon Musk has called for DOGE investigations into NIH and DOD, and stated, “Will ask @DOGE to put an end to animal cruelty.”

Tens of thousands of dogs and cats are still locked in government-funded labs. WCW’s investigations have identified billions in government animal testing contracts and grants that are actively being funded and proposed spending cuts to the Department of Government Efficiency and other agencies.

Fauci’s Animal Labs Are Alive and Well

As we reported, the NIH just renewed a $3 million project funded by Dr. Fauci at the University of Missouri-Columbia that infests hundreds of beagle puppies with ticks in vaccine experiments. Fauci’s deadly COVID infection experiments on cats and other animals are also still being funded.

Gateway Pundit is also reporting how Bhattacharya’s NIH just renewed the $4.1 million annual contract for Fauci’s Monkey Island in Rep. Nancy Mace’s congressional district in South Carolina, who has been working with WCW to shut it down for years.

White Coat Waste exposed how the taxpayer-funded island houses 3,300 NIH-owned primates who are used to supply cruel and wasteful virus experiments.  Each year, roughly 500 monkeys are taken from the island and sent to government labs where they’re caged, cut into, and infected with incurable and deadly diseases.

Bhattacharya also inexplicably promoted a Fauci gain-of-function colleague to take over Fauci’s former NIH division.

WCW has been urging the Trump Administration to defund all of Fauci’s animal labs and abolish of his entire NIH division.

More Active NIH-Funded Animal Abuse Around the World

As we first reported, the NIH is still funding a the Biden-Harris NIH grant paid billionaire Moderna co-founder Robert Langer’s new biotech company $322,000 to torture beagles to test an experimental weight loss drug.

The NIH also recently renewed $5 million cocaine experiments on puppies that were uncovered by WCW and Senator Rand Paul.

The NIH and Pentagon are currently paying a laboratory in China to abuse 300 beagles per week in drug tests. The contract was awarded under Biden-Harris and is still active until the end of May 2025, and could be extended if Bhattacharya doesn’t take immediate action.  Trump has canceled grants to some Chinese labs, but 20 other Chinese animal testing laboratories are still eligible for NIH funding.  

And a sickening monkey laboratory inside Dr. Jay Bhattacharya’s headquarters that WCW first exposed in 2019 has continued to receive funding.

Aside from shutting down the NIH’s in-house dog lab, instead of announcing widespread cuts to cruel animal tests, as President Trump did during his first Administration, Dr. Bhattacharya has released a non-committal statement defending some animal tests and saying that NIH will only “aim to reduce the use of animals in NIH research” going forward, instead of completely cutting the funding for the abuse of beagles, the torture of cats, monkeys, and the funding for transgender experiments on mice.

We were told Fauci and Biden were evil for these cruel animal tests, but now these same experiments are still being funded under the Trump Administration, and NIH won’t even commit to ending all of these animal abuse experiments.

For years, WCW has been warning that even though Dr. Fauci is gone from government, his damaging legacy is alive and well at the NIH.  They were right.

Why won’t Bhattacharya end the cruel animal tests ordered by Fauci and his friends? He has the power to do this! “Aiming” to do something isn’t the same as actually doing it! This is unacceptable!
