On Friday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy evaded inquiries from Loomer Unleashed regarding his assertions about harboring an illegal immigrant in his residence.
As he navigated the National Governors Association Conference in Washington, D.C., Loomer Unleashed asked New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, “Why are you violating federal immigration law? Why are you violating federal immigration law, Governor Murphy?”
Earlier this month, Governor Murphy suggested during a public address that he and his spouse may be providing accommodation to an undocumented immigrant at their residence. Governor Murphy stated, “I prefer not to provide excessive detail, but there is an individual within our broader community whose immigration status has not yet reached the desired resolution. We decided, ‘Let us offer her shelter above our garage, and best of luck to federal authorities attempting to pursue her.’”
Governor Murphy’s support for open border policies and his obstruction of the Trump administration should not be surprising. Records from the state of New Jersey indicate that Alex Soros contributed $4,900 to Murphy’s reelection campaign in 2021. Additionally, in the same year, Alex Soros donated $25,000 to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, which played a significant role in organizing events for Murphy’s prior reelection campaigns. Furthermore, Alex Soros’s father, George Soros, also supported Murphy’s earlier reelection efforts by contributing $4,900 to Murphy’s campaign and $25,000 to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.
It is notable that during Phil Murphy’s 2021 reelection campaign, the New Jersey Democratic Committee organized an event featuring both Murphy and Jill Biden.
Alex Soros has expressed his opposition to President Trump’s border security policies. Following Bishop Edgar Budde’s critique of these policies during the inaugural prayer ceremony held at the National Cathedral, which was attended by President Trump and Vice President Vance, Mr. Soros utilized his X account to share a post from MeidasTouch that characterized Bishop Budde’s remarks as “fearless.”
In January, shortly before President Biden concluded his term in office, George Soros was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Prior to receiving this honor, Mr. Soros utilized his X account to express criticisms of then President-elect Trump’s border security policies. In his post, Mr. Soros stated, “As an immigrant who found freedom and prosperity in America, I am deeply moved by this honor. I accept it on behalf of the many individuals around the world with whom the Open Society Foundations have allied over the past 40 years.”
Elected Democrats, including Governor Murphy, appear to be attempting to persuade the American public that their opposition to President Trump’s secure border policies stems from the demands of the populace. However, the underlying reality suggests that the influence of elite donors on the Left may be the primary factor driving the obstructionist actions of these elected officials.
