The exchange, captured in an exclusive video by Loomer Unleashed, occurred as Tlaib departed an anti-Trump demonstration on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, raising questions about her ties to the protest movement.
In the video, a Loomer Unleashed reporter approached Tlaib and asked, “Do you think these protests are authentic in nature?” Tlaib responded by emphasizing her support for federal unions, prompting the reporter to note that such unions often back Democrat candidates and are linked to the ongoing anti-Trump demonstrations. When pressed further with, “The Political Revolution, does that sound familiar?” Tlaib replied, “I don’t know,” brushing off the question. The reporter countered, “Well, they support you,” pointing to a clear discrepancy between her statement and the public record.
Despite Tlaib’s denial, evidence suggests a connection. Political Revolution’s website prominently lists Tlaib as an endorsed candidate, accompanied by a caption that reads, “This is a listing of Progressive candidates endorsed by national groups, including Our Revolution, Brand New Congress, Democratic Socialists of America, Justice Democrats, the Political Revolution, and Progressive Change Campaign.” The endorsement dates back to at least 2022, casting doubt on Tlaib’s claim of ignorance.
According to its official mission statement, the Political Revolution claims a pivotal role in supporting Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaigns. The group’s website asserts that its founders were instrumental in launching “Sanders for President,” described as the leading online community devoted to advancing Sanders’ bid for the White House. The statement highlights the organization’s grassroots efforts, noting that through the work of volunteers alone, it successfully raised over $10 million and reached millions of individuals monthly during the campaign.
The controversy deepened with revelations about Political Revolution’s partnership with 50501, a key organizer of the Capitol Hill protests targeting Trump and Musk. The 50501 website lists Political Revolution among its collaborators, and its “March 4th” events page redirects visitors directly to Political Revolution’s site, underscoring their operational ties. These protests, which have drawn thousands nationwide, oppose Trump’s policies and Musk’s role in government efficiency initiatives.
Adding a provocative twist, footage from last week’s 50501 protest on Capitol Hill showed a demonstrator wielding a poster featuring Luigi, the Super Mario Brothers character, with the caption, “Elon, Don, Luigi Says: DENY, DEFEND, DEPOSE.” The phrase mirrors inscriptions on bullet casings linked to Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the recent murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
