Conveniently, Leek also works as the Chief Legal Officer at Foundation Risk Partners, a Daytona Beach insurance agency. Leek has shamelessly stated that he sees no conflicts of interest with his sponsorship of insurance bills in the Florida Legislator and his work as a chief legal officer at a Florida insurance agency. President Trump has long criticized Leek’s insurance laws, calling them “the biggest insurance company BAILOUT to Globalist Insurance Companies, IN HISTORY.” Trump has endorsed Leek’s GOP primary opponent, David Shoar, in the Florida Senate District Seven race. Clearly, Tom Leek is a RINO who can not be trusted.
In 2022, State Rep. Tom Leek sponsored HB-A, which was eventually signed into law and provided $1 billion from Florida’s general revenue to bolster the reinsurance market. HB-A also severely limited property owners’ redress against insurance companies who fail to pay claims. HB-A is considered one of the primary reasons for Florida’s current insurance crisis. It worsens as Leek’s assets rose from $5.4 million in 2022 to $14 million in 2023. Leek, who is also the Chief Legal Officer at Foundation Risk Partners, a Daytona Beach insurance agency, says that his sponsorship of HB-A is not a conflict of interest.
