Ohio, once a critical swing state, has been fully turned red. Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, who has publicly held office in the Buckeye State since 1975, lost his reelection bid to Bernie Moreno this week. President Trump’s popularity in Ohio forced Brown to run a campaign falsely portraying himself as a “moderate”. Senator Brown probably expected his strategy of running as a “moderate” to work in 2024, as Brown deployed a similar strategy in 2018 and won reelection by 6.4%. During the summer and early fall months of 2024, Brown’s strategy of portraying himself as a “moderate” was paying off as polling from Ohio showed President Trump holding a commanding lead over Kamala Harris, while at the same time, Sherrod Brown was holding between a 2-6% lead over Moreno. Then came Loomer Unleashed’s questions to Brown regarding his support for Kamala Harris’s radical policies. On September 9th, Loomer Unleashed asked Senator Brown to apologize for his voting record that empowered Kamala Harris to flood Springfield, Ohio, with illegal immigrants. Our September 9th video confrontation of Brown received over 7 million views on X. The high view count of the Senator Brown video caused the mainstream media to blame Laura Loomer for President Trump’s comments about illegal Haitian immigrants eating Springfield residents’ pets. Immigration was not the only issue Loomer Unleashed confronted Senator Brown with. On September 13th, we asked Senator Brown about his voting record that empowered Kamala Harris to flood women’s sports with men. Polling after our video confrontations with Brown showed the Ohio Senator’s lead evaporating, where Bernie Moreno eventually defeated Brown by 4%. Moreno’s 4% victory is a 9-point swing compared to early September polling. Taking into account Brown’s victory in 2018 and Brown’s September and October 2024 polling collapse, it is clear that Loomer Unleashed videos played a critical role in Sherrod Brown finally being defeated in Ohio.
President Trump’s popularity in Ohio forced Senator Brown to run a campaign falsely portraying him as a “moderate.” In 2018, Brown successfully lied to Ohio voters, winning reelection by 6.4% despite being against Trump’s key policies like immigration and tax cuts. Brown’s opposition to tax cuts is key, as Brown was Chairman of the powerful United States Senate Finance Committee.
Senator Brown probably expected his strategy of running as a “moderate” to work in 2024. Summer and early fall polling from Ohio showed President Trump holding a commanding lead over Kamala Harris, while at the same time, Sherrod Brown was holding a 2-6% lead over Moreno. Notable polling includes Rasmussen Reports, taken on August 17th, which showed Brown leading Moreno by 5%.
Senator Brown’s lead in Ohio started to collapse on September 9th, after Loomer Unleashed asked him, “How do you feel about illegal Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, eating dogs? Would you be happy if an illegal alien ate your dog, Senator Brown? Senator, do you think we should decriminalize Fentanyl like what Kamala Harris says? Do you agree with Kamala Harris that we should decriminalize Fentanyl? Senator Brown, one more time, how would you feel if an illegal Haitian migrant ate your dog? Considering that you allowed all these illegal immigrants into Ohio by voting to give Haitians amnesty, would you like to comment on that?”
As Brown approached the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee building, we asked him one final time, “Would you like to comment on your voting record that gave illegal immigrant Haitians amnesty in Ohio? You voted to give them all amnesty, Senator Brown.”
Immigration was not the only issue Loomer Unleashed confronted Senator Brown with. On September 13th, we asked Senator Brown, “Why did you vote to allow men to play women’s sports?”
Following our video confrontations with Senator Brown, October polling showed Moreno taking the lead. Moreno ultimately won his race by 4%, a 9-point swing compared to September polling.
Loomer Unleashed was happy to play a vital role in the demise of Sherrod Brown’s political career.
