California Governor Gavin Newsom went to the border on Friday to explain why Donald Trump’s secure border policies are “negative.” Newsom said Friday President Trump’s planned tariffs would negatively impact American families. Trump has recently threatened tariffs on Canada and Mexico to make those countries work with the United States to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigration across America’s borders. It is interesting that Newsom said Trump’s solution to stop illegal immigration is the issue when illegal immigration is negatively impacting millions of Americans. The Left’s open borders are a significant reason why President Trump and U.S. House and Senate Republicans won November’s election. Newsom and his donor, Alex Soros, have been posting threats to obstruct Trump’s agenda. Soros and Newsom have a long history of embracing open borders. Newsom and Alex Soros’s actions show that the Left does not plan on going quietly into the night.
While standing behind the border wall, Gavin Newsom said that President Trump’s secure border policies would negatively impact Americans. Newsom shared his speech at the border on X with a caption, “President-elect Trump’s planned tariffs would have a profoundly negative impact on working families in California and across the country. Make no mistake: this would be a tax on consumers.”
President Trump announced on TruthSocial that it was time Canada and Mexico pay for the failures that have allowed illegal immigrants and fentanyl to flow across America’s borders, “As everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring through Mexico and Canada, bringing Crime and Drugs at levels never seen before. Right now a Caravan coming from Mexico, composed of thousands of people, seems to be unstoppable in its quest to come through our currently Open Border. On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders. This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country! Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!”
It is interesting that Newsom said Trump’s solution to stop illegal immigration is the issue when illegal immigration is negatively impacting millions of Americans. According to the Border Patrol, 13,999 of the 21 million illegal immigrants that have crossed into America under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are murderers.
Newsom has a long history of supporting open borders once posting in 2019, “Coming from diverse fields across the United States, these fellows are working towards advancing racial justice, including in voting rights, immigration, asylum practices, intellectual property law, and media accountability.”
It seems like Newsom is very eager to obstruct Trump’s agenda, as he recently posted to X, “California is ready to fight. I just called an emergency special session to help bolster our legal resources and protect our state against any unlawful actions by the incoming Trump Administration. Whether it be our fundamental civil rights, reproductive freedom, or climate action — we refuse to turn back the clock and allow our values and laws to be attacked.”
Echoing Newsom’s calls to obstruct is Democrat Mega Donor Alex Soros, who recently posted to X that despite Trump winning every swing state, Trump does not have a decisive mandate, and the left should fight back. Soros wrote, “It is not a powerful mandate, and the numbers are important “they provide Democrats and progressives, however, is an argument against despair and surrender”. This was a close election. Not a surprise!”
It should come as no surprise that Newsom and Soros are both posting about “fight back,” as the Soros family has been very committed donors to Newsom. Records from the state of California show that Alex Soros and his father, George Soros, have been donating to Gavin Newsom since 2013.
Gavin Newsom and Alex Soros understand they must obstruct as much as possible to save their dream of a borderless society. It is essential that Republicans be ready to fight the Left’s obstruction efforts.
