Senate Democrats Slow Walk Kash Patel’s Confirmation Process

Senate Democrats are slow-walking Kash Patel’s confirmation process. The Senate Democrats’ obstruction began when Pete Hegseth’s confirmation vote was slow-walked, thus causing a chain reaction. The Senate GOP is powerless to stop the Senate Democrats from slow-walking President Trump’s nominee’s floor votes, as 60 votes are needed to break the 30 hours of debate. It’s telling that Senate Democrats are willing to obstruct President Trump’s national security nominees, making it more difficult for President Trump to implement policies like secure borders.

Following Kash Patel’s Thursday confirmation hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made it clear that he plans to do whatever it takes to stop or delay Patel’s confirmation. Schumer wrote on X, “No one with a history of spreading lies about the FBI and smearing the agents who work there should be FBI Director. Kash Patel is not remotely prepared to serve as FBI Director.”

As of Friday morning, the Senate Judiciary Committee had not scheduled a vote to advance Kash Patel’s FBI Director Nomination to the Senate floor.

Once Patel’s nomination is advanced out of the Senate Judiciary and onto the Senate floor, Patel’s nomination must wait for 30 hours to be voted on as the Senate rules state, “The Senate tradition of unlimited debate has allowed for the use of the filibuster, a loosely defined term for action designed to prolong debate and delay or prevent a vote on a bill, resolution, amendment, or other debatable question. Prior to 1917 the Senate rules did not provide for a way to end debate and force a vote on a measure. That year, the Senate adopted a rule to allow a two-thirds majority to end a filibuster, a procedure known as ‘cloture.’ In 1975 the Senate reduced the number of votes required for cloture from two-thirds of senators voting to three-fifths of all senators duly chosen and sworn, or 60 of the 100-member Senate.”

On Thursday afternoon, Florida Senator Rick Scott criticized the Senate Democrats’ slow-walking efforts, posting, “By Jan. 30th, Obama had 22 members of his admin confirmed, 19 of which were expedited votes. As of this morning, Trump has 7 confirmed, & today, Democrats are delaying yet another confirmation vote. I’ve got news for Dems: late nights and long hours won’t stop us. We WILL confirm President Trump’s nominees.”

Obstructing President Trump’s secure border policies is the primary reason behind the Senate Democrats slow walking of President Trump’s national security nominees. Before Kash Patel’s confirmation hearing, top-ranked Senate Judiciary Democrat Dick Durbin looked right into Loomer Unleashed’s camera and kept walking after we asked him, “What qualifies you to vote against Kash Patel when you support dangerous open border policies?”

Our open borders questions really enraged the Senate Judiciary Democrats as during Kash Patel’s confirmation hearing, Dick Durbin held up a massive photo of Kash Patel and Laura Loomer in a pathetic attempt to paint Patel as an extremist.

Loomer Unleashed exposed that stopping President Trump’s secure border policies is the number one goal of the Senate Judiciary Democrats. Hopefully, Senate Republicans will continue to do all they can to break through the Senate Democrats’ obstruction.
