On Wednesday, California Congressman Eric Swalwell praised Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) as “the best,” refusing to condemn her recent inflammatory remarks urging college graduates to “hit their [Republican] haters with a chair.” Crockett made the statement during a commencement address at Tougaloo College, drawing criticism for appearing to endorse violence. Swalwell’s defense places him in alignment with New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman—both prominent lawmakers have refused to condemn Crockett’s rhetoric. Their refusal to speak out reinforces President Donald Trump’s claim that the congresswoman—whom he pointedly refers to as “CROCKETT”—is emerging as a leading figure in the Democrat Party.

Loomer Unleashed confronted Rep. Eric Swalwell on Capitol Hill, greeting him with, “Hello, Congressman Swalwell.” He replied, “How are you doing?” When asked, “What do you think about Jasmine Crockett?” Swalwell responded without hesitation: “She is the best.”

Swalwell then pivoted, attempting to deflect the conversation. “You look good, man—did you get a new suit?” he asked, before awkwardly adding, “What are you benching these days?” Loomer Unleashed reporter Charles Downs quipped, “More than you, Congressman.” Pressing further Downs asked, “Do you think it’s cool for Jasmine Crockett to [basically] say you should hit Republicans with chairs?” Swalwell dodged the question, responding instead, “I don’t know what you’re doing, but you look good.” He ended the exchange by asking who “puts [Downs] together,” completely avoiding the follow-up question about Crockett’s call to violence.

Following the encounter,  Laura Loomer posted exclusive video footage of the exchange on X—footage that Rep. Swalwell oddly quote-posted with the caption, “Please Watch!”

Crockett’s DCCC Contributions Reveal Rising Influence

Swalwell, a prominent member of the House Judiciary Committee, declined to criticize Crockett—underscoring her growing influence within the Democrat Party. Notably, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records for 2025 show that SWALWELL FOR CONGRESS donated $10,000 to the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), a key organization supporting House Democrats in competitive races. By comparison, Crockett has contributed $50,000 to the DCCC. Her significantly larger donation to the DCCC highlights her rising clout within the party’s leadership.

History with Anti-Trump Protests

Rep. Swalwell’s evasive behavior could stem from prior scrutiny by Loomer Unleashed. Swalwell posted a video on X claiming he “spoke to hundreds of thousands of people at the DC #Handsoff event to say we’re still here!” However, Loomer Unleashed released footage revealing a very different scene—including a protester sleeping in the luggage compartment of a charter bus, surrounded by signs reading “Hands Off” and “Nazis are back, stand up, fight back.”
