America, founded on Judeo-Christian principles, has long been a beacon of religious freedom. Yet, over the past few decades, there has been a rising tide of anti-Christian sentiment in a nation where faith was once celebrated as a cornerstone of society. The progressive left, in its quest to reshape American culture, has made Christianity a target of ridicule, marginalization, and outright hostility.
From public schools to corporate boardrooms, Christianity is increasingly portrayed as an oppressive relic of the past rather than the moral framework that shaped Western civilization. Remember when it was radical to suggest that prayer in schools be banned? Now, it’s radical to suggest it be brought back. Expressions of Christian faith are often deemed “offensive” or “intolerant,” while every other belief system is celebrated under the banner of diversity. The irony is staggering. Tolerance is preached from the rooftops—except when it comes to traditional Christian values.
Consider how the entertainment industry treats Christianity. Christians are frequently caricatured as backward, judgmental, or downright villainous. Meanwhile, Hollywood glorifies moral relativism and lifestyles that directly conflict with biblical teachings. When was the last time you saw a blockbuster film portray a devout Christian as a nuanced, relatable hero? The answer is likely never.
Even government policies reflect this growing disdain. California, for example, has repeatedly attempted to pass legislation that would infringe on the rights of Christian institutions to operate according to their beliefs. The left calls it “equality”; Christians call it an attack on religious freedom. Meanwhile, Christian business owners are dragged into court for refusing to violate their deeply held convictions—because apparently, “live and let live” only applies if you agree with the left’s agenda.
And let’s not forget the outright mockery of Christian holidays. Christmas, once a joyful celebration of faith and family, is now reduced to “winter break” or “holiday season.” Heaven forbid someone says “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays.” Apparently, acknowledging Christ in Christmas is just too much for the fragile sensibilities of the progressive elite.
The rise of anti-Christian sentiment isn’t about equality or fairness. It’s about erasing the cultural influence of Christianity to pave the way for a society devoid of moral absolutes. After all, moral relativism is far more convenient when you’re trying to justify policies that undermine personal responsibility and traditional values.
But here’s the good news: Christians are not going anywhere. This is a nation where faith still thrives in the hearts of millions, and no amount of progressive disdain can erase the foundations on which America was built. The more the left tries to silence Christianity, the more obvious their intolerance becomes. Christians should take this as a call to action—not to retreat, but to stand firm. The light of faith shines brightest in the darkness, and no amount of cultural hostility can extinguish it.
